It's gone a little colder around here so warm tights have come out for both girls. It's starting to feel like Autumn will be arriving soon, we have been smelling bonfire smoke in the air a couple of times this past week.
Jamie's Food Revolution started here in the UK on Monday on Channel 4. The children's diets on the programme really shocked me in the first episode, but I think that is because I am so used to reading American blogs/Mothering.com where the mama's feed their children healthy, fresh, homemade food rather than processed, junk food. Lately, we have been having a think about the food we eat in our home. We eat family meals most nights which are mostly cooked from scratch and made from fresh ingredients. We have been eating more organic food for a while now, organic eggs, organic non-homogenised milk for everyone and organic cheese for the children. We are thinking about going organic for more of our groceries and looking into having a fruit and veg farm box delivered from Riverford weekly and delivery from the organic vegetarian wholefood Suma Co-op once every 12 weeks for all our dry goods. This will take quite a bit of organisation on my part though, so we're not sure yet. We would like to have quality over quantity and see as little food waste as possible. I am really pleased to see that Jamie's Food revolution has been re-newed by ABC for a second season, I can't wait for it to eventually hit our screens.
For the readers who leave comments on my blog, please check back after you have left your comment because I always try to reply. I sometimes reply to comments via e.mail but as little L seems to be dropping her lunchtime nap I don't have very much time on the laptop in a day. Although I felt it was a little more personal to send my lovely readers an e.mail, it is now easier for me to reply to comments directly on my blog. You can always click on 'subscribe to comment feed' and then any comments from that particular blog post will be sent directly to your e.mail.
