Please join me for a walk around Thistledown:
We wound our way through the cool woodland paths, walked past hidden glades, perfect for pitching your tent away from the main camping pastures. We chatted to a lady and her daughter. They showed us their khaki green Oztent, complete with handmade bunting draped over the entrance. They told us how the evening before they had slept all night next to the campfire under the stars. They had been over to admire our bell tent earlier in the day.
As we continued on our walk, we discovered the wild flower meadows. A boy told us a tree house was being built in the woodland encircling the meadow. We could see the large platform amongst the strong tree branches. Leaving the flower meadows behind, we walked up a very steep grassy path towards the Elderflower Orchard. On our way, we came across the 'Time of man' wall which the children clambered over, warming their bare feet on the sun-heated stones.
Join me tomorrow for the rest of our walk!
